Client Snapshot

The client is a mid-sized logistics and warehousing company with 250 staff and five regional warehouses. The operations team managed thousands of shipments daily but lacked real-time visibility into inventory and workflow bottlenecks. With rising customer demands and tight service-level agreements (SLAs), the company needed better control over its operations.

The Challenge

Operations managers were blind to real-time performance across facilities. Data was siloed between ERP, warehouse management systems (WMS), and spreadsheets. Shipment delays, inventory miscounts, and misallocated resources frequently caused missed SLAs, leading to higher costs and dissatisfied customers. Warehouse supervisors relied on manual reporting that was often outdated by the time it reached leadership. Decisions were reactive rather than proactive, and the company struggled to scale without adding significant overhead. The tipping point came when a major client threatened to terminate their contract after repeated missed delivery commitments.

The Solution

BA3® AI deployed FLOW, the Operations & Manufacturing AI Room. The initial deployment was completed in under two weeks, with a full rollout over 90 days. FLOW was tailored for the company’s needs, integrating ERP, WMS, and IoT data from scanners and sensors. Delivered as an all-inclusive package, FLOW combined software, managed services, 20 hours of monthly AI consulting, and continuous enhancements. Key capabilities included:
  • AI-powered dashboards with live visibility into shipments, inventory, and warehouse activity.
  • Predictive analytics to identify workflow bottlenecks before they became issues.
  • Automated recommendations for resource allocation to improve throughput.
  • SLA tracking with alerts to ensure commitments were met.

Implementation Journey

FLOW was rolled out in four agile sprints:

  1. Sprint 1 (Weeks 1–2): Integrated ERP and warehouse management systems.
  2. Sprint 2 (Weeks 3–4): Ingested IoT scanner and sensor data for real-time tracking.
  3. Sprint 3 (Weeks 5–6): Built AI-powered dashboards for operations managers and supervisors.
  4. Sprint 4 (Weeks 7–8): Added predictive analytics for bottleneck prevention and SLA monitoring.
The operations team prioritized dashboards to gain immediate visibility. BA3® AI’s managed services team supported supervisors with training and reporting customization.

The Results & Benefits

Within six months, FLOW transformed operations and warehouse management:

Testimonial

“FLOW gave us the visibility we needed to run logistics like clockwork. For the first time, our teams aren’t firefighting—they’re optimizing. We improved SLA compliance, saved costs, and retained a key client we nearly lost.” – CEO at a Chemical Manufacturing Company

Looking Ahead

The company plans to expand FLOW with:

  • Predictive labor scheduling to optimize workforce allocation.
  • Supplier tracking integration for end-to-end supply chain visibility.
  • AI-driven recommendations for equipment utilization and maintenance.

With monthly enhancements included, FLOW will continue to evolve as the firm’s operational command center.
